Early career: Began professionally with Sporting Cristal in Peru (2008–2011), later returning there after spells abroad.
Cruz Azul: Played for Cruz Azul (Mexico) from 2016 to 2018. During his time at Cruz Azul he was primarily used as a midfielder/wing-back, contributing with strong ball circulation, defensive work rate and set-piece delivery. He formed part of a Cruz Azul side competing in Liga MX and continental competitions.
Later clubs: After Cruz Azul, Yotún moved to Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer (2019–2021) before returning to Sporting Cristal. (Club moves beyond 2024 may have occurred.)
International career
Regular member and long-serving figure for the Peru national team. Debuted for Peru in 2011 and has appeared in multiple Copa América tournaments and World Cup qualifying cycles.
