- Genk (youth → senior debut): Broke through at Genk, winning the Belgian Pro League and earning recognition as a top young goalkeeper.
- Chelsea (signed 2011): Immediately loaned out after signing.
- Atlético Madrid (loan, 2011–2014): Established himself as a top keeper in La Liga, winning the La Liga title (2013–14) and reaching the 2014 UEFA Champions League final.
- Chelsea (2014–2018): Returned and won two Premier League titles (2014–15, 2016–17), the FA Cup (2017–18) and EFL Cup (2014–15).
