2020/21 context and overview

• Hatayspor played their first-ever Süper Lig season in 2020/21. Ömer Erdoğan took over as head coach early in the Süper Lig campaign and led the team through their debut top-flight season.
• The squad combined several experienced Turkish players and foreign signings, focusing on organization, defensive discipline and quick transitions under Erdoğan's pragmatic management.
• As a newly promoted club, their main objective was top-flight survival and establishing the club at the highest national level.

Typical squad members (around that time) — examples of players who featured in 2020/21:

• Hayrullah Bilazer (defender)
• Abdülkadir Ömür — note: primarily associated with Trabzonspor; included here for context only (not a Hatayspor player)
• Riad Bajic (forward) — Azerbaijani/Bosnian forward who joined earlier
• Younes Belhanda — (Clarification: Belhanda was not a Hatayspor player; notable mids and wingers at Hatay included players like Musa Çağıran, Ertuğrul Ersoy in different periods.)

Note on accuracy: Squad lists and some player attributions can vary; Hatayspor's promotion and Ömer Erdoğan's role in the 2020/21 season are the main verifiable points. For a precise match-by-match record, league position, full squad list and statistics for 2020/21, official Süper Lig archives or Hatayspor's club records from that season should be consulted.
