• Country / League: Mexico — Liga MX
• Home city / Stadium: Torreón, Coahuila — Estadio Corona (also known as Estadio TSM Corona)
• Head coach (around 2020/21): Guillermo Almada (appointed December 2019)
• Club colours / badge: Green and white; crest featuring a scorpion and the club name with green shield styling

2020/21 season — summary points

• Guillermo Almada took charge late 2019 and led the team through the pandemic-affected 2020 season and into 2021, implementing a more possession-oriented, proactive style compared with some previous campaigns.
• Key competitions: Liga MX (Guard1anes 2020 and Guard1anes 2021 tournaments) and Copa MX was suspended for the 2020–21 cycle; CONCACAF Champions League participation depends on prior qualification (Santos did not play in the 2021 CCL).
• Notable players around this period included Carlos Acevedo (goalkeeper), Néstor Araujo (defender — note: transferred to Celta Vigo earlier in 2018, so verify squad lists for exact seasons), Orbelín Pineda (was at Cruz Azul by 2020), Javier Correa, Brian Lozano, Julio Furch (forward acquired mid-2020), and Ayrton Costa/other domestic talents — squads changed by transfers, so exact roster should be checked for specific competition rosters.
• Julio Furch was an important attacking signing in mid/late 2020 and contributed goals throughout the 2020/21 period.
• Season performance: Santos remained competitive in Liga MX under Almada, often finishing in positions qualifying for Liguilla (playoffs) contention; exact standings, points and match results should be checked from official Liga MX records for Guard1anes 2020 and Guard1anes 2021.

Style and management

• Guillermo Almada is known for organized, attack-minded teams with emphasis on ball circulation, pressing and quick transitions.
• Almada brought tactical stability after prior managerial changes, focusing on integrating domestic talent with a few foreign signings.
